Another area prison is under a lockdown today.
Officials at the Joyceville Institution near Kingston say lockdown measures are in place, as staff conduct an exceptional search of the facility.
There’s been no word on what spurred the lockdown and search, but staff say normal routines, including visits, have been interrupted and if you have a visit scheduled, you should contact the institution.
Inmates in the medium security unit have now been locked down since 4:00 Thursday afternoon.
