A quick response from Prince Edward County firefighters kept a historically significant building in downtown Picton
from going up in flames this morning (Saturday).
The fire department was called at 10 o’clock after flames were spotted inside the Century 21 Lanthorn Real Estate building
at 102 Main Street.
The fire department had the fire under control in 20 minutes.
Fire damage was limited to the back of the building but there was smoke damage throughout.
No one was injured.
The cause remains under investigation.
