Disturbance – Assault – Dangerous Driving
On 15 July 2016 at 10:47 a.m. Police were called to the rear of the Front Street stores north of Bridge Street for a report of a disturbance and someone trying to run over a construction worker. Upon the arrival of the police several citizens had a male restrained on the ground. Police arrested a 54 year old Belleville man. He was remanded into custody later that day for a bail hearing on Monday. He faces charges of Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, 2 counts of Assault and 2 counts of Breach of Probation. The 38 year old victim was able to jump out of the way of the pickup truck and received minor injuries from the physical altercation.
