A joint investigation between the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau-Drug Enforcement Unit (OCEB-DEU), Belleville Police Service Drug Unit, and Tyendinaga Police Service resulted in the execution of Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants at an apartment located on Water Street, Napanee and at a residence on College Street in Belleville.
No one was found inside the apartment on Water Street. Officers seized a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine, a digital scale, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia.
A 42 year-old female and a 36 year-old male returned to the address and were arrested by officers. Police seized another digital scale, two cellular phones and $100 cash from the pair.
Both have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The male faces three additional charges of breach of probation.
The female was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of August 30th. The male was held in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing July 18th.
At the residence located on College Street in Belleville, officers seized 7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 15 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), 5.5 grams of cannabis resin (hash), 31 oxycodone pills, 265 grams of cannabis marihuana, 30 unknown white pills, four cell phones, 3 sets of digital scales, and $1485 cash.
A 39 year-old male and 27 year-old male, both from Belleville, and a 35 year-old female from Napanee face five (5) counts each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The 39 year-old also faces a charge of breach of probation and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
