Belleville police have laid more charges against two men said to be involved in a disturbance with a homeowner on Gracefield Lane early Thursday morning.
Around 2:30 a.m., the homeowner had confronted three men who were attempting to steal items from residences along the shore using a boat.
Officers were called and two men reportedly became assaultive during the arrest. A third man is still at large and further investigation is pending. Several items believed to have been stolen have been located in the area.
Charged are 31-year-old Christian Goller of Belleville and 35-year-old Richard Barefoot of Quinte West. Both men are charged with assault, assault with intent to resist arrest, uttering threats, break and enter with intent and trespassing at night.
Goller and Barefoot have bail hearings in Belleville court today.
