The Belleville Downtown DocFest is one of the cultural activities benefiting from the city’s $25,000 Community Arts & Culture Fund.
The DocFest organizing committee is receiving a $2,500 grant.
The Film Festival is entering its sixth year and organizers say planning is already well underway for the 2017 Festival that will run from March 3 to March 5.
DocFest Organizing Committee chair Holly Dewar says the funding will help DocFest to continue presenting a “world-class documentary film festival showcasing both the work of international and local filmmakers.”
In June, DocFest received a Quinte Arts Council Arts Recognition Award honouring those who have made a significant contribution in support of the arts in the Quinte region.
