Belleville City Council will meet for a special sitting Monday afternoon, with hockey on the agenda.
Mayor Taso Christopher, along with city staff, held meetings last week with stakeholders, connected to an unnamed hockey team.
The acquisition of the club and moving them to Belleville is likely to be the talk.
Council will first meet in closed session, before discussing the topic in open forum.
The mayor says fans in Quinte want something at the OHL level or higher.
Rumours have been swirling since the departure of the Belleville Bulls, about getting a team back in the Yardmen arena.
The city is also undertaking renovations to the Yardmen arena, however it is not known if that will be on the table today.
Council meets in closed session beginning at 3:00 p.m. at city hall.
