A Quinte area woman had a chance to receive a prestigious award from the Governor General last month.
Barb Marian, who is the Business and Finance Manager of Newman Insurance in Colborne was given the Meritorious Service Medal.
It was in recognition for her contributions within the sport of tae kwon do.
