It seems the cost of moving an elite military squad to Quinte continues to skyrocket.
Last year on the Lorne Brooker Show, former MP Rick Norlock hinted the costs involved in moving the JTF2 Special Forces Unit to Trenton, would be much more expensive than originally planned.
In documents obtained by the Ottawa Citizen, the price tag could now reach $1.2 billion (b).
In 2006, the then Conservative government had it priced around $350 million.
The National Post says the Department of Defence is in the design phase and engineering studies are underway.
Few updates are expected until late next summer according to The Post.
The JTF2 members are to to remain in Dwyer Hill, until at least 2019 or 2020.
DND has purchased and expropriated land north of the current base property in Quinte West, where JTF2 is proposed to re-locate.
