The recent stretch of hot and dry weather has spurred a number of burn bans from local fire departments.
In Quinte West, a complete burn ban is now in effect, while a partial ban remains in Prince Edward County.
In Belleville, as always, there is no burning allowed inside the city’s urban centre, but at this time there’s no ban on rural burning, although you should check with the fire department before you do.
In Stirling-Rawdon, Marmora and Tweed, bans will likely be going into effect as well, fire officials are just double checking forecasts before making the final call.
If you’re not sure if there’s a burn ban on in your area, check with your local fire department.
