A former Belleville Police officer has had a criminal charge against him withdrawn in a Belleville court.
Constable Eric Shorey was charged in May last year with assault, related to a domestic incident that allegedly happened in December 2014.
Yesterday, Shorey’s charge was withdrawn and a peace bond was handed down.
In October, a Police Services Act Hearing ruled Shorey must resign from the BPS by February 19th or be terminated, after he was found guilty of discreditable conduct.
Shorey is appealing the decision and remains suspended from duty with pay.
