Veridian, Belleville’s electricity distributor, held its annual shareholders meeting Monday.
Officials say it was all good news for the city, one of those shareholders.
At the meeting in Ajax, Veridian reported it earned a total $9.6 million in 2015, and paid out 8.4 million to the shareholders.
Belleville treasurer Brian Cousins explains how it all rolled out for Belleville, saying it was all “good news.”
Cousins says the money goes toward the city’s doctor recruitment program and other issues.
Belleville has been a shareholder of Veridian since its inception 18 years ago in 1999.
At the meeting, CEO Michael Angemeer said Veridian had recorded “a 90% customer satisfaction rating and reached 1 million hours without a lost-time injury.”
