The winds were fierce and there was damage but still no official word on whether or not Stirling was hit by a tornado Monday.
Environment Canada says the general area around Stirling, down toward Belleville, and throughout Greater Napanee had hail during the storm.
A funnel cloud sighting was reported in the Napanee area and an 80-foot silo knocked down in Stirling.
Severe weather meterologist Geoff Coulson tells Quinte News he cannot yet confirm it was a tornado.
#1 STORM DAMAGE
And he says July is the most active month for summer storms.
Coulson says it’s too early to rule out more storms or tornadoes this summer, and with them flash flooding, large hail and damaging winds.
He says the investigation is continuing for the next few days and anyone with significant information about storm damage or photos from the Monday storm can send them to www.storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca
