It is one down and one to go for the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Over the weekend, Trenton High School hosted the Quinte West Relay for Life.
Spokesperson Brad Warner says they surpassed their goal of $60,000 bringing in more than $65,000.
He says 31 teams all contributed to the effort.
Their major sponsor was West End Dental Centre in Trenton.
Warner says they will now turn their attention to the Belleville Relay, taking place overnight Friday.
Things will kick off at Loyalist College, starting at 7:00 p.m. running until 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
Over 40 teams have already registered, with a goal of $100,000.
$5,000 sponsors (including in-kind), include Shoppers Drug Mart, Reid’s Dairy, CIBC Wood Gundy, the Rotary Club of Stirling, the Rotary Club of Belleville, Convergys and Belleville Toyota.
