Fire departments in the region were busy yesterday and overnight.
Fire caused heavy damage to a house on Cordova Road, north of Marmora last night.
Marmora and Lake firefighters responded around 7 o’clock and were on scene for a few hours.
No injuries were reported. Further detail not available.
Meanwhile, fire destroyed a house in Castleton, north of Colborne late yesterday afternoon. No one was home at the time of the fire. Cramahe Township, Brighton and Trent Hills firefighters responded. One firefighter was taken to hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion.
In Belleville, there was a minor garbage fire at the back of a house at Station Street yesterday afternoon. No one was injured.
In Prince Edward County, there were a couple of small grass fires yesterday, along with a car fire in Consecon.
No one was injured.
