The Quinte region is getting set for an event that brings up major debate.
Saturday is the annual Slut Walk, happening at Jane Forrester Park by Meyers Pier.
Many of those who have taken part in the past were scantily clad
“Slut Walks” began in Toronto in 2011, after a Toronto police officer blamed the victim of a sexual assault because she had dressed in a provocative manner.
The walks are meant as a reminder that the blame for sexual assaults should rest with the aggressor, not the victim.
Money raised from the event will go to the Sexual Assault Centre.
