Belleville is ready to spend some money on a campaign to attract both shoppers and investors downtown.
The original idea was a three-year campaign with some money coming from senior government but when that fell through city council agreed to match $21,000 with the Downtown Business Improvement Area for a one-year $42,000 program in 2016.
Manager of Economic Development Karen Poste says there are two parts.
She says the idea is to get new investors into the downtown.
Poste says a wide variety of marketing strategies will be used, including social media and YouTube.
