A group of residents in Tweed will be helping a group of Prince Edward County residents welcome refugees from Syria.
Due to changes in government deadlines and the lack of suitable housing in Tweed, the Tweed Refugee Sponsorship Committee will donate the money raised to settle a Syrian refugee family in Tweed to a similar group in Prince Edward County.
The Tweed group will give $27,000 to PEC Syria, which is working to bring refugees to Prince Edward County and the surrounding area.
