Using the internationally recognized Norman Hardie Winery in Wellington as his backdrop, the Ontario Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced $856,000 will be invested in wineries across the province.
Wednesday, Jeff Leal along with Bay of Quinte MP Neil Ellis raised a glass to wine week by announcing the feds and province are making the investment to help 20 wineries expand production, grow brand recognition and leverage new opportunities.
Norman Hardie Winery received over $43,000 to purchase a state of the art wine press with specialized oak barrels from France and to implement a stackable wine tank system.

Minister Jeff Leal calls the winery now in its 13th season an Ontario success story.
MP Ellis also congratulated Norman Hardie on their success.
Prince Edward County mayor Robert Quaiff says the investment is fantastic news.
The funding was made possible through the Growing Forward 2 program – a federal-provincial-territorial initiative that supports programs aimed at improving innovation, competitiveness, market development, adaptability and industry sustainability in Canada’s agri-food and agri-products sectors.
