A new contract agreement between the City of Belleville and its inside/outside workers, represented by CUPE, have ratified their new contract agreement.
The four-year deal will go into effect once City Council officially adopts it at the next regular meeting.
The contract, which governs 170 members of city staff, includes a 2.0% raise retroactive to last year, with 1.0% increases this year and next , and then a further 1.75% increase in the final year.
The deal also includes minor benefit enhancements and Mayor Taso Christopher says the raises will put city employees in line with other municipalities across Ontario.
