Residents in the Quinte Conservation watershed area are being asked to think about conserving water, as levels in local lakes and streams continue to be quite low.
Quinte Conservation says our area has received less than 70% of its average rainfall over the last three months and less than 40% of average rainfall during the month of may.
The environmental agency says residents should, if possible, try to cut back their water usage by about 10%, until we get some significant rain and the levels rise again.
QC suggests holding off on over-watering plants and lawns and washing cars, driveways or sidewalks.
