The MPP for Prince Edward Hastings is optimistic that a proposal for a second wind farm on the south
shore of Prince Edward County will be denied.
Todd Smith says the Environmental Review Tribunal’s recent rejection of a 9 turbine wind project at Ostrander Point because of harm to natural habitat should lead to a denial of an even bigger wind farm nearby.
MPP Smith says he hasn’t heard of any appeals coming from Gilead Power Corporation regarding the decision against Ostrander Point and congratulated the Prince Edward County Field Naturalists and the Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County for never giving up their efforts to stop industrial wind turbines from being built in the county.
