Accidents
Belleville, Ontario – On June 10th, 2016, at 11:57 a.m. two accidents were reported to police. The first accident, a two-car accident, occurred on Old Hwy 2 in the city’s east end. Belleville Fire Department and EMS attended as the airbag had been deployed in one of the vehicles. One person was transported by EMS to BGH with minor injuries. One of the drivers was charged with ‘failing to yield to approaching traffic’.
The second accident, another two-car accident, occurred at Bridge Street West at Sidney Street. One person was taken to BGH by EMS with minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. One of the drivers was charged with ‘failing to stop at a red light’.
On June 10th, 2016, at 12:04 p.m. officers attended in a parking lot on Dundas Street East in relation to a fail to remain accident. A car struck a stroller and failed to remain at the scene. On June 10th, 2016, at 12:16 p.m. police attended on North Front Street in relation to a two-car accident. EMS attended and treated one of the drivers at the scene. One of the drivers was charged with ‘following too closely’.
Disturbances
Belleville, Ontario – On June 10th, 2016, at 4:05 p.m. police attended on Station Street in relation to a disturbance. A 30 year old Belleville woman was arrested for breach of the peace. There were no reported injuries.
On June 10th, 2016, at 5:10 p.m. police attended on Front Street in relation to an intoxicated male. A 50 year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
On June 11th, 2016, at 1:00 a.m. officers were conducting bar checks when they came across two men fighting in a North Front Street bar. A 26 year old Belleville man and a 24 year old Prince Edward County man were arrested for their own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. Both were issued Provincial Offence Notices for being intoxicated in a public place. Both suffered minor injuries in their skirmish but did not require medical attention.
