On Monday May 30th, 2016, the Quinte West OPP entered into an investigation involving a theft of several lawn ornaments.
One of the victims of this theft alerted police when one of the stolen lawn ornaments was observed at a residence on Front Street in Trenton. Police investigation revealed that the thefts occurred sometime between May 20th and May 22nd, from three separate homes in the east end of Trenton, and that all of the stolen items had been sold locally.
As a result, two men from the City of Trenton, 31 year old John Cranney, and 36 year old James Patrick have each been charged with three separate counts of theft under $5000.
Both accused have been released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking with a court date of July 7th, 2016, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
