An OPP spokesperson says a suspicious object found on a beach at Presqu’ile Park Monday night poses no danger to the public.
OPP Constable Steve Bates tells Quinte News an unexploded flare from CFB Trenton was found on the beach, around 5:30 this evening, likely left over from a recent training exercise.
Bates says the 8 Wing Explosive Disposal Team has been called in to remove the flare, as they are in all similar cases.
He added that it’s actually a rather common occurrence.
