It was the first day for a number of Ontario High School Championship events across the Province.
In Windsor Tristan Flatt of East Northumberland Secondary School won a bronze medal in the Junior Discus event at the OFSAA Track and Field championships. Most of the competition gets going today.
The Nicholson Crusaders are also in Windsor for the Ontario Boys “A” Soccer championships. Nicholson opened with an 8-0 rout of New Liskard.
In Cobourg, the top seed Trenton Tigers crushed Midland 43-5 in their opening game of the Boys “AA” Rugby championship tournament.
And in North Bay, the Bayside She Devils opened the Girls “AA” Soccer final tournament with a 4-4 tie against Villa Nova College from King City and a 2 all draw with Louis Riel from Ottawa.
