Belleville has hit a snag on sidewalk work in the industrial park.
At Thursday morning’s Mayor’s Implementation Team meeting, staff updated members that delays have come in discussions with Transport Canada and CN rail, over the installation of five level pedestrian crossings.
Staff has recommended breaking the project into two stages, the road upgrades and then the sidewalk and multi use path crossings.
Mayor Taso Christopher says this is becoming more and more common.
MIT members voted in favour of the option, which will now go to council for approval.
They hope to have road construction underway next month, wrapping up at the end of October.
The multi use path crossings may not be constructed until sometime in 2017.
