The recent outbreak of pertussis in North Hastings seems to have run its course.
Hastings Prince Edward public health manager of health protection Bill Sherlock told the board of health there had been a total of nine cases.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Richard Schabas says it was an opportunity to increase the immunization rates among students in the area.
Sherlock says there were 30 students with “concientious objection” to immunization, but about half of them took the shots during the outbreak.
He says if there are no other cases the outbreak would be declared over on June 8.
