No fewer than 32 local high school track and field athletes have qualified for this week’s Provincial Championships in Windsor. 13 are from East Northumberland Secondary School.
Sam Hall of ENSS set a new record in the junior men’s high jump event and Bailey Maracle of St. Theresa set a new mark in the midget men’s high jump at the East Regional Track and Field championships at Bruce Faulds track. Hall also finished first in the 100 and 200 metre events. Maracle also qualifies in the long jump.
Tristan Flatt of ENSS was first in the shot put and discus. Blue Dragon teammates Ben Snider and Andrew Brown won their respective events. Nadia Stinson of Bayside Secondary won the 80 metre hurdles.
Also qualifying in two events are Bria Abrams of St. Theresa, Michel Cormier of Bayside, Maddy Davis from Centennial and Nathaniel St. Roma of Nicholson.
