An eight-month long investigation by Belleville Police has led to the arrest of a 72 year-old city man, on sex assault charges.
Police were told about the historical incidents in August of 2015 and spent the last while looking into the claims of abuse against a former city resident.
As a result, the suspect has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count each of uttering threats and forcible confinement.
He was released on a promise to appear for a June 30th court date in Belleville.
Police say they won’t release his name, in an effort to protect the victim’s identity.
