Ten local athletes have qualified for Provincials after Day 1 of the East Regional High School Track and Field championships at Bruce Faulds Track at Mary Ann Sills Park. Five of them are from East Northumberland Secondary.
Sam Hall won the Junior 200 metre event. Tristan Flatt the junior discus and Andrew Brown was first in the Senior 1500. Katie Lowry and Allison MacDonald were 3-4 in the women’s junior triple jump.
Also qualifying for OFSAA are Nathaniel St. Roma and Riley Donia from Nichsolson, Megas Pattison of Centennial, Bria Abrams of St. Theresa and Frank Vreugdenhil of Quinte Christian.
Day two starts at 8:30 this morning. The Ontario High School Track and Field Championships take place in Windsor next weekend.
