Police in Stirling-Rawdon are investigating a break-in at a local business and think they have a lead on a suspect.
Chief Dario Cecchin says between last Sunday night and Monday morning, someone pried open the front door of Jessie’s Jams on Stirling-Marmora Road and took about $450 dollars from the register and another $225 in rolled coins from the shop office.
Meanwhile, just after midnight on Monday, security cameras at Greenhawks Supply, also on Stirling-Marmora Road, caught images of a man peering inside, but police say the business wasn’t entered.
Investigators say the two incidents might be connected and the man in the video was wearing a dark coloured hoodie, balaclava and gloves.
Anyone with information on either incident can call Stirling-Rawdon Police or Crimestoppers.
Meanwhile, A 33 year-old Marmora man has been charged with defrauding a Stirling-Rawdon business, over the course of several months.
Stirling-Rawdon Police say, over the course of that period, the man illegally siphoned off about $15,000 from the business’ safe.
No other details were released, including the name of the suspect and business, which are being withheld to protect the victims in the case.
