The Ontario Junior Hockey League and Dudley-Hewitt Cup champion Trenton Golden Hawks returned home from Saskatchewan last night and received a hero’s welcome from about 50 fans at the Community Gardens.
A season that began last August ended Saturday with a loss to the host Lloydminster Bobcats in the semi final of the RBC Cup. Hawks forward and Belleville native Hunter Fargey says it will take a few days for their accomplishments to sink in.
Fargey is one of 15 graduating players. The Golden Hawks will host the Dudley-Hewitt Cup in 2017.
