A very well known community member, father, husband and hockey player has lost his battle with cancer.
BJ Ketcheson passed away Sunday, at the age of 36.
Ketcheson, his wife Suzanna and children received support from the local community during their battle, from the Belleville Police Service, Andrew Shaw’s day with the Stanley Cup, a Go Fund Me campaign and many other fundraisers.
He was an avid hockey player, who spent time in the Ontario Hockey League with the Peterborough Petes and the then Mississauga Ice Dogs, while also playing senior hockey for the Belleville McFarlands and the Wellington Dukes.
The Napanee native was battling Stage 4 lung cancer which spread. His fight began in 2013.
