Belleville City Council will be looking at moving ahead with plans for their new police station location.
At Tuesday’s meeting council will look at the next step in the retrofit of the Veridian building, at the corner of Sidney Street and College.
Council will hear a report from staff, asking to expedite the tender process by approving Shoalts and Zaback Architects out of Kingston, to do the design drawings on the site.
Staff believe since they have already worked with the company and that they have done numerous other police station designs, they would meet both the financial requirement and the aggressive timeline the city is looking at.
The report suggests that by going to a bidding process, it may delay work on the project another three months.
Council meets Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at city hall.
