Sunday is all about understanding and increasing awareness of biodiversity issues.
The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 as the International Day for Biological Diversity.
This year’s theme is mainstreaming biodiversity; sustaining people and their livelihoods.
To bring attention to these issues the Prince Edward County Field Naturalists are inviting everyone on an exploration through the South Shore at 9 a.m. Sunday.
The tour starts at the parking lot on West Mary Street and continues to Point Petre, with stops at the Miller Family Nature Reserve and Ostrander Point Crown Land Block.
The day finishes up with demos at the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory and lunch.
