Community gardens will grow again in Quinte West.
Monday night, council gave the thumbs up to donating three acres of land to the volunteer group, Quinte West Community Gardens.
The land is off of Guelph Street, next to the public works yard in Trenton.
In other business, speed limit changes are on the way to Frankford Road.
Quinte West council gave the green light to a staff report that will see the limit at 60 kilometres per hour for a portion of Collins Road.
A stretch of Flyboy Road heading east to Highway 62 will change to 80 kilometres per hour.
Two flashing signs at a cost of $9,500 will warn drivers about the change.
Finally, The Bay of Quinte Tourist Council and the Bay of Quinte Living Council are now one working group.
With almost no discussion as some may have expected, Monday night Quinte West council approved the merger between the two groups.
The group will be called the Bay of Quinte Regional Council.
It will be comprised of two members each from Belleville and Quinte West and two members from the Belleville and Quinte West Chambers of Commerce.
There will be one member from Prince Edward County, Quinte Restaurant Association, Quinte Accommodations and Attractions Association, Quinte Realtors Association, Tyendinaga Township and Hastings County.
