Analyzing crime trends leading to increased patrols in certain areas appears to be working in Quinte West.
Last month, OPP officers increased patrols in certain neighborhoods, especially during daylight hours, in an effort to cut down the number of residential break and enters.
Crime analysis over a 3 year period showed break and enters peaking in Trenton during the month of April.
As a result of focused patrols last month, the number of break and enters was down 80 percent from April of last year.
So far this year, break ins are down 25 percent from the same period last year.
