The Belleville Downtown Business Improvement Area will ask for some help from city council this coming Monday.
Chair of BIA Board, Edie Haslauer says member Richard Courneyea will ask council to pay the interest on any business loans from Trenval for one year to get through the reconstruction of the downtown.
Trenval, a federal government agency, offers various low interest loans to businesses throughout the region.
Also, downtown business owners will ask that a so called “pop up” marketplace be supported in the former Brick building on Pinnacle Street to help businesses sell their wares during the reconstruction.
