Ontario Provincial Police have launched a criminal investigation into the Liberal government after a wind power company complained about deleted documents.
Trillium Power Wind Corporation has alleged in a lawsuit against the provincial government that officials destroyed documents relevant to its case about the cancellation of a Lake Ontario wind project south of Picton.
Trillium lawyer Morris Cooper says the company is gratified the OPP are looking into it.
The OPP are also investigating the alleged destruction of documents related to the cancellation of two gas plants and have charged two ex-staffers of former premier Dalton McGuinty with breach of trust and mischief.
