Members of the International Floorball Federation are saying it is the most impressive opening ceremonies in tournament history.
On Tuesday night, around 2,000 people took in the 75 minute spectacle, which included a Cirque de Soleil inspired dance by the Quinte Ballet School (directed by former performer Brad Denyes), an inspiring talk by 1988 Olympic Silver medalist Liz Manley, along with a flash mob and local, national and international dignitaries.
Daniel Persson is the head coach for Team Austria. He says the opening ceremonies were special.
IFF Match Coordinator Sarah Mitchell says the support system has grown dramatically locally.
On Wednesday, the first game will feature the largest one game attendance in tournament history.
Canada will play against Japan at 10:25 a.m
Team Canada Head Coach Todd Crawford says it will be a great atmosphere in front of the sold out crowd.
