The mayor of Tweed says she is excited about a funding injection of $1.4 million from the province to fix Crookston Road.
Monday it was announced, Ontario is providing more than $7.6 million to communities in Bancroft, Centre Hastings, Limerick, Marmora and Lake, Tweed and Wallaston.
Mayor Jo-Anne Albert says the municipality has been looking at ways to get the road fixed for eight years.
Bancroft will receive up to $2 million to help improve water supply in the town. Centre Hastings will see up to $892,000 for Ridge Road and North Steenburg Lake Road. Marmora and Lake will receive $678,000 to rehabilitate the Don Shannon’s bridge.
The six local projects are part of 19 approved in Eastern Ontario through the 2015-16 round of the Ontario Commuity Infrastructure Fund for a total provincial investment of more than $23 million.
