(Golden Hawks Coach and G.M. Jerome Dupont)
The OJHL champion Trenton Golden Hawks are en route to Kirkland Lake where the team makes its franchise debut in the Dudley-Hewitt Cup for the Central Canadian Hockey Championships.
It might be the first time for Trenton but not for their coach and general manager Jerome Dupont. The 1980 first round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks Won the “Dudley” in 2000 with Thornhill and in 2007 with Aurora. The Tigers also won the national RBC title that year as well. However Dupont plays down the importance of his experience.
Trenton’s first game is against the defending champion Soo Thunderbirds tomorrow afternoon.
