Centre Hastings taxpayers will pay 4.79% more this year compared to 2015, that adds up to about $166 per year, on a home valued at $188,688.
Last night the municipality passed its 2016 budget, with a total of just over $5.1 million dollars.
Some of the major capital spending commitments in Centre Hastings this year include a new fire truck, LED lighting upgrades at the arena, finding a back-up water source and various road improvements.
Municipal staff say 2.7% of the increase can be directly attributed to the jump in policing costs, to the tune of $145,288.
