More than 1,500 people collected litter for the 16th annual Quinte Bash Community Challenge in Belleville and Quinte West on Saturday.
Quinte Waste Solutions spokesman Dan Orr says there was a good turnout in Quinte West.
Orr says the Quinte West firefighters cleaned up along the Murray Canal.
TRASH BASH
Participation by the Business and School Challenge , an event that ran during the week leading up to the Trash Bash, more than doubled this year with more than 600 volunteers who collected more than 500 bags of garbage.
