Some good news for drivers who use the Hastings Swing Bridge on County Road 45.
Parks Canada has announced the bridge replacement, set to be finished on May 21st, will actually be done by April 29th, about a month sooner than expected.
Staff say that once the bridge is re-opened, there may still be some intermittent closures as the contractor puts the finishing touches on the project, like completing new sidewalks and removing the temporary walkway.
The work began on January 4th with a complete closure of the bridge, which has caused headaches for residents and drivers just passing through.
