A lawsuit has been filed against the Township of Tyendinaga, by former members of its fire department.
Quinte News has learned the civil papers were filed late last month and include former Fire Chief Mike Boyd, Fire Prevention Officer Jeremy McKenna and his wife and member Cara Marshall as plaintiffs.
The three are alleging wrongful dismissal.
McKenna and Marshall, both of Roslin, are seeking six months salary and benefits, along with $50,000 damages each.
Boyd, who resides in Belleville, is looking for a year salary and benefits, vacation pay and $25,000 in damages.
Township Clerk Steve Mercer says the municipality denies the allegations and intends to fight them in court.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
