The Mayor of Quinte West wants photo radar back on the provincial government’s radar.
At a Quinte West Police Services Board meeting today (Monday), Jim Harrison says residents’ main concern surrounding policing is the amount of speeding on local streets and roadways.
He says it’s time to take another look at photo radar as another tool to try to slow drivers down.
Meanwhile, so far this year, the number of speeding charges laid in Quinte West is up 76 percent from the January to March period last year, going from 283 in 2015 to 498 this year.
