As we reported earlier this week the federal funding for the Hastings-Quinte paramedicine program, which helps people with health issues stay in their own homes, ran out at the end of March.
Acting chief of emergency services John O’Donnell told the Hastings Quinte EMS committee the wrap-up report has to be in Ottawa in June.
O’Donnell says the province seems to be the best bet since it provides 50% funding for emergency services and has just announced new paramedicine funding.
On Friday local officials will meet with Prince Edward Hastings MPP Todd Smith to push for the funding.
