A recent investigation by the CBC has uncovered data on dangerous rail crossings in the country and there are a few in the Quinte region that rank rather high.
According to the report, Transport Canada keeps records of the 500 most dangerous crossings.
The 2014 numbers show three local crossings making the top 100.
Topping the local list is the Shannonville Road crossing of Canadian Pacific in Tyendinaga Township, it sits at 33rd out of 500.
Right behind it is Brighton’s Bellamy Road at 36th, that is a CN crossing.
The Montrose CP crossing is further down, but still in the top 100, at 86th.
